Coaching
Coaching is a widely used definition of helping a person or group to get from one point to another. Therein also lies the origin of the word in droska or carriage, with the purpose of helping the person or group move forward. Until the realization of "what Google likes", we have never defined ourselves as coaches, or that what we do and offer through Konciensia is coaching.
The reason for this is that we have never likened ourselves to what someone else does, not because what others do is bad. It's just not what we do.
When Konciensia was born, our focus was to offer people something sufficiently unlike anything else they had encountered, something that accessed that margin that stays hidden. That makes us relapse into behaviors, thoughts and emotions. Which enables healing thanks to the involvement of our body, our nervous system and our senses. Were it to remain unlike anything else, we would call ourselves people who exist for people.
How do Konciensia and Coaching go together?
But Google doesn't like that, you don't search for that. What we know for sure is that we are there for you, who are looking for a coach. Whether it is you as a private individual looking for personal coaching or you as a leader who wants to become even better at coaching leadership, coaching approaches, coaching conversations and coaching questions. Or even leadership coaching! Keep reading if you are curious about how we would meet you.
If you are looking for a coach
We think you are looking for someone who will give you all their attention, focus on you and give you concrete tips on how to move forward or make a change.
We mean that you should not look for someone who gives you their full attention, who has all their focus on you or who gives you concrete tips on what to do. How can we think that? Well, for a change to happen, it needs to come from within yourself and you don't want to be faced with someone else's agenda. You want to have your own agenda and be met by someone who has your agenda with them.
A coaching conversation, a coaching approach and coaching questions should be about your truth in the present, your experiences in the present. Your experiences and your truth in the present are within you and do not only take place in your thoughts, actually very little in your thoughts and much more in your body, in your autonomic nervous system.
As a coach
We think that you as a coach have a lot of knowledge, ideas about change, methods and tips. Everything good inside you waiting to come out and give your customer or client change. Getting you and your client to succeed
What makes a good coach?
It holds the space for your client to experience everything that happens within them as they feel their way around the subject they want to be coached by you in. A good coach sees that none of what the client does is the client, it is something it does and it does it for a good reason. It would never have done it otherwise. And that exactly the same thing that applies to the client also applies to you.
We believe that as a coach you should always pay more attention to yourself than to the person you are coaching. We usually say that you should be at least as observant and curious about what is happening within you as you are about your client. Maybe even a little more, 60% focus on you and 40% focus on your client. How can we think like that?
Because if we lack focus on what is happening within ourselves, a sub-personality with an agenda will always come in and control the coaching. Maybe the Fixer comes out or Feel sorry for or even Get a grip?
Whatever your subpersonalities may be called, it is not them that your client has hired, it is you. Therefore, you should pay at least as much attention to yourself as you do to your client.
